Elementary Art Classes

Exploring Artists, Art History, & Art Processes

Step into the world of creativity and discovery! In this class, young artists will explore the lives and work of famous artists throughout history, from the bold colors of Henri Matisse to the swirling skies of Vincent van Gogh. Each week, students will learn about an influential artist, uncover the stories behind their masterpieces, and discover the unique processes they used to create art.

Through hands-on projects inspired by these artists, children will experiment with a variety of mediums—painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, and more—while building their own creative voice. Lessons connect art history to practical studio experiences, helping students understand how artists express ideas, tell stories, and reflect the world around them.

By the end of the semester session, students will not only have a portfolio of original artwork but also a deeper appreciation for the rich history of art and the many ways people have used creativity to make meaning across time and cultures.
